Rapportรฉ par 'Ikrima : Des Zanadiqa (athรฉes) furent amenรฉs ร 'Alรฎ et il les brรปla. La nouvelle de cet รฉvรฉnement parvint ร Ibn 'Abbรขs qui dit : ยซ Si j'avais รฉtรฉ ร sa place, je ne les aurais pas brรปlรฉs, car le Messager d'Allah (ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
) l'a interdit, disant : โน Ne punissez personne avec le chรขtiment d'Allah (le feu). โบ Je les aurais tuรฉs conformรฉment ร la dรฉclaration du Messager d'Allah (ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู
) : โน Quiconque change sa religion islamique, tuez-le. โบ ยป
Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to `Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn
`Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) forbade
it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according
to the statement of Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ), 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"
